Basketball Recap: Spring Lake Takes a Loss

Spring Lake was the 57-34 winner over Hamilton when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spring Lake Lakers took a 37-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hamilton Hawkeyes on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lakers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Hawkeyes are ranked 296th).

Spring Lake's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Hamilton, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Zeeland East the next time they take the court. Hamilton will head out to face Zeeland East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Spring Lake will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
