Baseball Game Preview: Nova Titans vs. Piper Bengals

The Nova Titans will square off against the Piper Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nova has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 3.

Nova fell victim to Jupiter and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-0.

Nova saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nico Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cardinal Gibbons hit Piper with a five-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bengals fell 7-3 to the Chiefs. The Bengals have struggled against the Chiefs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Ladanain Mckenzie put in work no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Piper's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 4-2 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Mckenzie was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mason Langley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Rodriguez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

Nova's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Piper, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Nova was able to grind out a solid win over Piper when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 5-0. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bengals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
