Baseball Recap: Bullard Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Bullard rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the China Spring Cougars 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kage Korenek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bullard's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Collin Brooks, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Bullard's win bumped their record up to 25-9. As for China Spring, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-11.

Bullard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
