Basketball Recap: Kearns Finds Playoff Glory Versus Spanish Fork

It's playoff time, and Kearns had no trouble coming through when it counted. They snuck past the Spanish Fork Dons with a 71-67 win on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-41 back in November of 2024.

Several Dons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Johnson a new career-high. Gage Christensen was another key player, putting up 18 points and five rebounds.

Kearns has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. Spanish Fork's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15.

Kearns has already played their next contest, a 67-31 defeat against Timpview on the 21st. Spanish Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
