Volleyball Recap: Perkins Comes Up Short

If Perkins was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sandusky on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellevue Redmen on Thursday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Redmen recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-22, 19-25, 25-14.

Viera Walker paced Perkins' offense, picking up 13 kills. Walker got some help from Braelyn Davie and her 26 assists. Davie also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ella Goodsite, each putting up two.

Perkins' loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Bellevue, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Perkins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Ross on the 4th. As for Bellevue, they will be playing at home against Sandusky at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
