Football Recap: Prairiland Patriots vs. Grand Saline Indians
Prairiland had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-5 to make it four. They lost 35-12 to the Grand Saline Indians. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Although Prairiland took the loss, they still got scores from Austen Gordon and Callan Bridges.
Even if they lost, Prairiland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Easton Newman: he picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles.
As for Grand Saline, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2. Considering they have won six matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jett Taylor was his usual excellent self, rushing for 157 yards and two scores on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 166 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Grand Saline's leading receiver Kolton Prox was Taylor's top target yet again, picking up 123 receiving yards and one TD.
