Softball Game Preview: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. North Providence Cougars

The Mt. Hope Huskies will take on the North Providence Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mt. Hope fell victim to Johnston and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Panthers. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, North Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against East Greenwich, falling 17-1.

Mt. Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for North Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Mt. Hope's way against North Providence in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Mt. Hope made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
