Softball Recap: Snake River Comes Up Short

Snake River was the 10-5 winner over Bear Lake when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Snake River fell 7-4 to Bear Lake on Wednesday. The loss leaves the Panthers still looking for their first win of the season.

Neiley Mangum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Snake River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Taylor, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run was Taylor's first of the season.

Snake River's record now sits at 0-9. As for Bear Lake, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Snake River will challenge rival Preston at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bear Lake is set to square off against their familiar foe Marsh Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
