Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kenedy). They were the clear victor by a 68-45 margin over the Pettus Eagles on Friday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-50 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Pettus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hayleigh Cruz posted 27 points. That was a full 60% of Pettus' points, marking the tenth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

The victory got Kenedy back to even at 14-14. As for Pettus, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.

Kenedy will venture away from home to square off against Woodsboro at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kenedy is facing Woodsboro at the right time seeing as Woodsboro is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Pettus, they will welcome Yorktown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pettus will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Yorktown will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's match.
