Basketball Game Preview: Hartland Eagles vs. Fenton Tigers

The Hartland Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Fenton Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Hartland will be strutting in after a win while Fenton will be coming in after a loss.

Hartland took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They came out on top against Salem by a score of 53-44.

Meanwhile, Fenton was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 57-49 to Brighton. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 151st).

Hartland's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Fenton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Hartland lost to Fenton on the road by a decisive 63-49 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Hartland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
