Baseball Recap: Rickards Comes Up Short

Rickards was the 9-2 winner over Godby when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders lost 15-3 to the Cougars on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Rickards saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jarquez Jackson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Rickards has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Godby, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Rickards will challenge Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Godby, they will head out to challenge Madison County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
