El Dorado is a perfect 5-0 against Bel Air since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Aztecs will face off against the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. El Dorado knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Bel Air likes a good challenge.
El Dorado easily dispatched Montwood two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Aztecs fell just short of Eastwood by a score of 36-34 on Friday. The loss was the Aztecs' first of the season.

El Dorado might have lost, but man, Ryan Estrada was a machine: he rushed for 198 yards and three scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Estrada's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 122 rushing yards dating back to last season.
While El Dorado came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Eastwood: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Zavyer Mathis and Matthew Pinto, who each logged five passes deflected. El Dorado wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 61.5%.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bel Air, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Big Spring by a score of 35-28 on Friday.
The critical scores for Bel Air came from Jacobe Valdez Elizondo and Marquette Beard.
The win got Bel Air back to even at 2-2. As for El Dorado, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. El Dorado has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 294.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bel Air struggles in that department as they've been averaging 256.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for El Dorado against Bel Air in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-13 victory. Do the Aztecs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
