Recap: Coronado Cougars vs. Liberty Patriots
On Monday, the Coronado Cougars faced the Liberty Patriots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coronado walked away with a 60-49 victory over Liberty. The win was just what Coronado needed coming off of a 75-51 defeat in their prior game.
Coronado's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tee Bartlett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Bartlett is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josiah Cunningham, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Coronado has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Liberty, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-2.
Coronado will take on Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to take on Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Foothill is ranked sixth, while Liberty is ranked first).
