Football Game Preview: East Rutherford Cavaliers vs. Chase Trojans + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Brandon Pinkerton and Keyontae Wingo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Rutherford Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chase Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Chase will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: East Rutherford extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Cavaliers blew past Draughn 57-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cavaliers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 388th).

It was another big night for Landon Flynn, who threw for 152 yards and five TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jason Arrowood, who gained 105 total yards and a touchdown.

East Rutherford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Eli Roof, Dominique Dato, and Arrowood picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Chase had to suffer through a 62-32 loss at the hands of Hibriten. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Rutherford's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chase, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for East Rutherford against Chase in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 54-0 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
