Preview: North Park Wildcats vs. Vail Christian Saints
North Park is 0-10 against Vail Christian since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Park Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vail Christian Saints at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully North Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.
Even though North Park has not done well against Hayden recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. North Park walked away with a 49-41 win over Hayden.
Jace Cornelison was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Pittington, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vail Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 54-50 to Vail Mountain.
North Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Vail Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
North Park was dealt a bruising 68-32 loss at the hands of Vail Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for North Park, Quinn Downey (who scored 18 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
