Recap: Mount Notre Dame vs. Centerville Elks
Mount Notre Dame waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Centerville 55-41. Given Mount Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Centerville is ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grace Pitzer was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Laila Harrison, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Mount Notre Dame has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Mount Notre Dame will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dixie Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centerville, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Fairmont at 7:30 p.m.
