Preview: Fall River Bulldogs vs. Modoc Braves
Fall River is 9-1 against Modoc since September of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fall River Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Modoc Braves at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Fall River was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 32-28 to Los Molinos. It was the first time this season that Fall River let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Fall River had strong showings from Abe Estes, who rushed for 24 yards and two touchdowns, and Carter Kroschel, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Modoc was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 36-30 to Weed.
Despite their loss, Modoc saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jafeth Mendez, who threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Weber, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Fall River's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Modoc, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Fall River against Modoc in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 46-8 win. Will Fall River repeat their success, or does Modoc have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
