Mammoth pushed their score all the way to ten on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 17-10 walloping at the hands of the Rosamond Roadrunners. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mammoth in their matchups with Rosamond: they've now lost eight in a row.
Jenna Lynch made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Ayala, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Even though they lost, Mammoth didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosamond only tossed four.
On Rosamond's side, they got a massive performance out of Lily Reeder, who went 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. Alexis Rico was another key contributor, going 3-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple.
Mammoth now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Rosamond, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Mammoth will head out on the road to square off against Kern Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Kern Valley hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse. As for Rosamond, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against California City at 3:15 p.m. California City is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 12.3 runs per game this season.
