Basketball Recap: Uzziah Marlowe Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Christian Academy

Southeastern Christian Academy hadn't done well against Christian Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors strolled past the Saints with points to spare, taking the game 71-53. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 53-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Southeastern Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Uzziah Marlowe, who posted 24 points. Those 24 points gave Marlowe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ziyon Smith, who scored 18 points.

Despite the loss, Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ayden Leith shot 63% from the field on his way to 33 points and five rebounds. Leith is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 63% in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Aubrey Hall was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.

The win made it two in a row for Southeastern Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points over those games. As for Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeastern Christian Academy will head out to square off against Liberty Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th. As for Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Carolina Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
