Preview: AIMS College Prep Golden Eagles vs. Skyline Titans
AIMS College Prep has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Skyline Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (AIMS College Prep is ranked 669th, while Skyline is ranked 645th).
Last Thursday, AIMS College Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Leadership Public Schools Richmond, taking the game 54-47.
AIMS College Prep relied on the efforts of Caleb Ketema, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Nahom Solomon, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ketema has scored all season. Isaac Abram was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Skyline's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 71-53 fall against Fremont. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Skyline in their matchups with Fremont: they've now lost three in a row.
AIMS College Prep's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.42 points. As for Skyline, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
AIMS College Prep barely slipped by Skyline when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 68-67. Will AIMS College Prep repeat their success, or does Skyline have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
