Baseball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in March.

FInn Demuth tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Emmett Johnson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Delaney, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's record now sits at 11-7-2. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Looking ahead, St. Ignatius College Preparatory will be playing in front of their home fans against Aragon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Dons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, they will face off against Marin Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
