Basketball Recap: Custer County Takes a Loss

Custer County lost against Trinidad back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Custer County Bobcats fell just short of the Trinidad Miners by a score of 34-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bobcats have suffered since February 16, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinidad to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Morales, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. What's more, Morales also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Hinchley, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Custer County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Trinidad, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Custer County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-39 victory against Crested Butte on the 8th. As for Trinidad, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 30-28 loss against South Park on the 8th.
