Football Recap: Jacob Rawls' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Estrella Foothills over Youngker + How To Watch

Estrella Foothills was the 40-13 winner over Youngker when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves came up short against the Roughriders on Friday, falling 42-20. The loss was the Wolves' first of the season.

Estrella Foothills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Rawls, who picked up 183 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Mickey Raftery was another key player, having thrown for 317 yards and two touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Estrella Foothills' defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Rudy Martinez and Dasan Guevara-Ponce, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Youngker's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Garcia, who threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 37 yards and a pair of scores. Those 307 passing yards gave Garcia a new career-high. Youngker's leading receiver Larry Moore Jr was Garcia's top target yet again, picking up 187 receiving yards and two TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Estrella Foothills fell to 5-1. As for Youngker, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Estrella Foothills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 32-16 victory against Cibola on the 10th. As for Youngker, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-14 loss against Buckeye on the 10th.
