Volleyball Recap: North Putnam Cougars vs. South Vermillion Wildcats
North Putnam unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Vermillion Wildcats on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
North Putnam started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-15.
Melanie Davies paced North Putnam's offense, picking up ten kills. Davies got some help from Hailee Daigle and her ten assists. Daigle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
