Softball Recap: W.S. Neal Comes Up Short

After flying high against Escambia County last Thursday, W.S. Neal came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 18-1 to the Prattville Christian Academy Panthers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

W.S. Neal saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Lucas, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

W.S. Neal has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Prattville Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. W.S. Neal will welcome Blacksher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Prattville Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Tallassee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
