Softball Preview: Modesto Christian Crusaders vs. Denair Coyotes

Denair never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Gustine last Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Reds. Makayla Dayton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Braelyn Marroquin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Havyn Boucher was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
Modesto Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Denair, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
