Soccer Game Preview: Pearce vs. Lamar

Pearce is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Lamar is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pearce Mustangs will host the Lamar Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Pearce was able to grind out a solid win over Rockwall-Heath, taking the game 3-1.

Meanwhile, Lamar kept a clean sheet against Grand Prairie last Tuesday. They blew past the Gophers 3-0. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by three goals or more this season.

Pearce is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 12 matches. Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 12-6-4.

Everything went Pearce's way against Lamar in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, as Pearce made off with a 6-0 win. Does Pearce have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lamar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
