Football Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Baldwin Braves

Northside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Baldwin Braves. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Baldwin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tavares Hooks, who rushed for 88 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Those 88 rushing yards gave Hooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Patterson, who threw for 203 yards and one touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes.

Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Baldwin, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Northside has already played their next matchup, a 22-13 loss against Warner Robins on the 29th. As for Baldwin, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cross Creek at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th. The contest will give the Braves their first taste of in-conference action this season.
