Softball Recap: Westside Has No Trouble Against Wren

Westside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wren, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Westside blew past Wren 11-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jazelyn Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Robinson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ryann Sanders was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kharis Madar also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Westside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Westside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. With the defeat, Wren broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Westside will have a chance to go back-to-back against Wren: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
