Basketball Recap: Brownstown Central Finds Playoff Glory Versus Charlestown

Brownstown Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They managed a 63-59 win over the Charlestown Pirates on Friday. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Pirates are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Charlestown lost, don't look at Anthony Fresh. Despite the final result, he shot 64% from beyond the arc en route to 35 points. Fresh's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keevin Bowman, who posted 13 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Brownstown Central and bumps their season record up to 21-2. As for Charlestown, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 18-6 record.

Brownstown Central has already played their next match, a 52-50 win against Silver Creek on the 8th. Charlestown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
