The Ovid-Elsie Marauders won the last time they faced the Durand Railroaders, and things went their way on Friday too. Ovid-Elsie rang in the new year with a 53-46 victory over Durand.

Despite the loss, Durand saw an underclassman step up: Darius Aldrich scored ten points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Aldrich pulled down eight or more rebounds. Brayden Joslin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Ovid-Elsie's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Durand, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Ovid-Elsie will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Morris at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Morris will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Durand will take on Lakeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
