The Colusa RedHawks will take on the Corning Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Colusa's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Corning has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Colusa is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Willows on Friday as they made off with a 19-3 win. Considering the RedHawks have won 13 matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Braelyn Santana made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Colusa got a massive performance out of Caeden Agnew, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Agnew a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elli Santana, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Colusa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Corning never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Live Oak last Friday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Lions. The game marked the Cardinals' most dominant win of the season.
Miley Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexys Lynch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Colusa's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Corning, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
Corning's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Colusa has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Corning, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Colusa keep running through batters, or will the Cardinals buck the trend?
Colusa took their victory against Corning in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the RedHawks repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
