Basketball Recap: Nucla Victorious

If Ouray wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Nucla, they should've done a better job of containing Brycen Rummel. The Nucla Mustangs took down the Ouray Trojans 65-48 on Wednesday for which the team can thank Rummel, who shot 5-for-8 from long range and dropped a triple-double with 19 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists. What's more, he also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Austin Garvey was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 16 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage.

Nucla's record is now 15-7. As for Ouray, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Looking ahead, Nucla will look to defend their home court on Friday against Telluride at 5:30 p.m. Nucla is facing Telluride at the right time seeing as Telluride is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Ouray does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
