Football Preview: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Murrah Mustangs        
        
		
             After two games on the road, Jefferson County is heading back home. They will welcome the Murrah Mustangs  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 Last Friday, Jefferson County made easy work of Crystal Springs  and carried off  a  42-20 victory.
  Royale Shelvy had a dynamite game for Jefferson County, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was  Jamari Tenner, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown.
 Jefferson County's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of  Gariyon Bailey and  Derrick White.  Jermall Williams was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack and making 13 total tackles.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Jefferson County was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 362  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 241  rushing yards in three consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Murrah put another one in the bag  on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Forest Hill 34-6 at home. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+  point.
 Murrah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Justyce Williams, who threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most  rushing yards  Williams has posted since  back in September of 2023.
 Jefferson County now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Murrah, their victory was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0.
