Volleyball Recap: Walden Grove Comes Up Short

Walden Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Sahuaro Cougars. The Red Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Walden Grove started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 27-25.

Walden Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Sahuaro, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walden Grove will venture away from home to take on Andrada Polytechnic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Wolves are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Sahuaro, they are taking a road trip to face off against Salpointe Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
