Volleyball Recap: Ellendale Triumphs

Ellendale hadn't done well against Medina/Pingree-Buchanan recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 win over Medina/Pingree-Buchanan. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory Medina/Pingree-Buchanan walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Ellendale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15.

Ellendale can attribute much of their success to Macy Norton, who had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Norton has posted over her last six matchups.

The win made it two in a row for Ellendale and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Medina/Pingree-Buchanan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ellendale will welcome LaMoure/Litchville-Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Medina/Pingree-Buchanan, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shiloh Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st.
