Basketball Recap: Ferndale Falls Short of Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ferndale can now relate to. They took a 52-35 bruising from the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack on Friday. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the WolfPack apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2014.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy was led to victory by Jayden Stamm and Ethan Bowen. Stamm went 7-for-13 on his way to 22 points and three steals, while Bowen went 6-for-15 to rack up 18 points. Stamm is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Luckovich, who posted two points along with 12 assists and eight boards.

Ferndale has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Ferndale and Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Ferndale will venture away from home to take on Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, they will take on Conemaugh Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
