Hoover fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Riverside on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Sadi Wehrle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayva Veltri, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Riverside, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Albans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while the Red Dragons have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
