Baseball Recap: Church Point Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Church Point put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Carencro Bears as the Church Point Bears made off with a 9-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Church Point also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2018.

Luke Venable looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kohlden Dohmann, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Waylon Castille was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Church Point's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs over those games. As for Carencro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Church Point is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Ascension Episcopal at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Carencro, they will host Episcopal at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
