DeSmet Jesuit was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in Metro Catholic. Earlier in the week, the Spartans defeated Chaminade 48-3.
DeSmet Jesuit was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting the Red Devils. Pat Mahoney's team came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
The Spartans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alik Shelton threw for 64 yards and Matthew Bruns had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Marcus Jester contributed 126 yards.

The top two teams in Metro Catholic will face off this week when first place Vianney takes on second place Christian Brothers. Last week, Vianney topped St. Louis University, while Christian Brothers beat Lindbergh.
