Soccer Recap: New Kent Comes Up Short

New Kent entered their match against Bruton on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Panthers. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but New Kent couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Grayson Yates, who's now up to seven this season.

New Kent is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5-2. As for Bruton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Kent will head out to face off against Gloucester at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bruton, they will venture away from home to square off against Menchville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Menchville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Bruton surely won't give up without a fight.
