The Cienega Bobcats will square off against the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Cienega's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Flowing Wells has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Thursday, Cienega made easy work of Pueblo and carried off a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Maya Fimbres looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cienega got a massive performance out of Allison Mullen, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Mullen a new career-high in doubles (three). Micaela Valenzuela was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Cienega kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Flowing Wells hadn't done well against Desert View recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Caballeros' pitchers stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 4-0 shutout.
Kristen Felix was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yesenia Solano, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Cienega has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Flowing Wells, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Cienega took their win against Flowing Wells in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Caballeros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
