Softball Recap: Schenck Takes a Loss

Penobscot Valley hit Schenck with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines lost 12-2 to the Howlers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Howlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 on Monday.

Abby Hutchins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Harlee Sprague, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Schenck's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Penobscot Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Schenck will venture away from home to face off against Stearns at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penobscot Valley, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Penquis Valley at 12:00 p.m. on the 30th.
