Softball Game Preview: Hallettsville Brahmas vs. Palacios Sharks

Hallettsville has gone a perfect 10-0 against Palacios recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hallettsville Brahmas will be playing at home against the Palacios Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Hallettsville will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

On Friday, Hallettsville was able to grind out a solid victory over Yoakum, taking the game 12-8.

Grace Halata made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Halata was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Macey Pustka and Addison Matula did most of the damage at the plate: Pustka scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Matula went 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hanna Zachary, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Palacios' offense. They lost 13-0 to Tidehaven on Wednesday. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hallettsville pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Palacios, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-2.

Hallettsville took their victory against Palacios in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 25-0. Does Hallettsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palacios turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
