Basketball Game Preview: Hanford Falcons vs. Kamiakin Braves

Hanford hasn't had much luck against Kamiakin recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Hanford Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Kamiakin Braves at 3:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hanford is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Hermiston, falling 84-42. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 122nd).

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Kamiakin's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Chiawana 66-62. While the Braves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Riverhawks 19-10 in the first quarter.

Hanford's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Kamiakin, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Hanford was dealt a bruising 76-24 loss at the hands of Kamiakin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kamiakin's Aubrey Herrin, who went 11 of 14 on her way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.
