Baseball Game Preview: LEE Volunteers vs. Churchill Chargers

LEE hasn't had much luck against Churchill recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Volunteers will welcome the Chargers at 4:45 p.m. LEE has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

LEE is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Madison, falling 14-0.

LEE saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xander Pearson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Churchill brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let Johnson get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Churchill's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-15. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for LEE, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18-1.

LEE couldn't quite get it done against Churchill when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Volunteers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
