Softball Recap: Marathon Falls to Almond-Bancroft in First Game of Season

Marathon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Almond-Bancroft Eagles on Friday.

Rehgan Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Ripley Skrzypchak was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Almond-Bancroft has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marathon will face off against Chequamegon at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Almond-Bancroft, they will head out to square off against Pittsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
