Recap: Quitman Panthers vs. Morton Panthers
On Tuesday, the Quitman Panthers faced the Morton Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Quitman managed a 40-35 victory over Morton. Winning may never get old, but Quitman sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
AUDRIANA HARRIS continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring ten points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahyla Dubuse, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Quitman's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Morton, their loss ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-1.
Coincidentally, Quitman and Morton will both be playing Northeast Jones the next time they take the court. Quitman will head out to face Northeast Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Morton will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th.
