Basketball Recap: Mount Hope Christian Academy's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

If Parkersburg Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mount Hope Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing TALAN CARON. The Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors came out on top against Parkersburg Christian by a score of 50-37 on Saturday thanks in part to CARON, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. CARON is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

RYAN PERRY was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Wyatt Meadows and Ashton Peeples certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Meadows posted 17 points and three steals, while Peeples had 15 points and five steals. That was a full 45.9% of Parkersburg Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Mount Hope Christian Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Parkersburg Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Hope Christian Academy will head out to square off against Jefferson Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Hope Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. Parkersburg Christian and Elk Valley Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
