Volleyball Recap: Hickory Flat Rebels vs. Potts Camp Cardinals
Hickory Flat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Potts Camp Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Tuesday.
While Hickory Flat ultimately came up short, they really made Potts Camp work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 26-24.
Potts Camp's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoe Clark led the charge by getting 12 digs, five kills, and three aces. Those 12 digs gave Clark a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Kate Robinson, who had 17 digs and five aces.
Hickory Flat's loss dropped their record down to 7-15-1. As for Potts Camp, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
